Enzo
Enea presents his book«private gardens»
at the design.05 Miami from 1st - 5th December 2005.
Each garden designer possesses, in some form or another,
specific ideas and principles regarding his understanding
of nature. In this regard, Enzo Enea’s philosophy
of nature is influenced by two fundamental yet antithetic
experiences: an early encounter with an exceptional garden,
and a subsequent actual discovery of nature.
His young age notwithstanding, the great perfectionist
and stylish designer from Schmerikon has already completed
over five hundred projects together with his staff. Naturally,
the gardens themselves speak for their creator. However,
since most of them are hidden from view and in order to
provide a visual introduction to Enea’s work, it is
depicted now in a magnificent, richly illustrated book,
as complex und stylishly designed as Enea’s garden
spaces themselves. The comprehensive, graphically striking
volume presents images of the projects described, drawings
and plans, as well as an essay presenting Enea’s development
and position in today’s garden design. This
inclination to always create something private and singular
is also evidenced in the largely space-forming quality of
Enea’s designs. Everywhere one has the impression
that the garden artist has completely transferred the characteristics
of the interior to the exterior, without foregoing the coziness
and functionality that are typical of the inner space.
Turning the pages of this book parallels a walk: the pages
begin to talk, and the reader is captivated – as though
standing before one of Enzo Enea’s magical garden
landscapes.
